Water Theme Led Wall

Architectural Visualization

About Project

This is a 3D animation project custom created for a massive LED wall in a prestigious Paris office lobby. This water-themed film brings a new perspective to the entrance hall, enlarging the space and providing an engaging visual experience for visitors. Simulating 300 cube meters of water, spreading close to 43 millions pixels on 115 sq meters of LED screens. 11 TB of simulation files. 24 days of calculations for the 96 seconds splash sequence. A total of 7 minutes of content. We collaborated seamlessly with Belgian architect JACQUES VAN HAREN, contributing to the realization of our client DEKA's vision for the future metaverse. In my role, I did the integration of in designing, modeling, shading, and lighting the giant floating bubble, adding a surreal touch to the cinematic experience. I also took care of the entire creation of the underwater environment, featuring the manta ray and incorporating lighting effects such as caustics and godrays. This encompassed all aspects of shading, lighting, and environment rendering using Autodesk 3dsMax and V-Ray. I also assumed responsibility for animating and rendering skies transitionning from the day to night using Terragen. And finally, I managed the compositing phase using After Effects, merging different elements to bring the entire cinematic vision to life. In addition to my design work, I used Unreal Engine 4.26 for previz, providing invaluable insights into the project's design and layout before final execution. The use of virtual reality and the Oculus Quest was beneficial, as it allowed the client to visualize the project on-site and provide feedback, as well as enabling us internally to check the setup and ensure there were no perspective issues depending on one's position in the lobby.
